To improve account security in O4, release number W1108C2 introduces an account lockout feature. This feature locks a user’s account after five consecutive failed login attempts. This article will explain how to lock and unlock users in O4.
Requirements:
- User must have Admin access to Users.
Note:
- Users will be notified of their remaining attempts after each failed login:
- When a user account is locked, the following message will appear:
Unlocking a User Account
When an account is locked, the user must contact their OASIS Admin to unlock it.
1. Click , then select Configuration from the drop-down list.
2. Click Users.
3 The Users Listing will appear.
4. Locate the locked user's account in the listing. Locked users appear highlighted and in red text.
5. Using the Select column, select the locked user.
6. Click Tools, then select Unlock Users.
7. A pop-up will appear. Click Unlock.
Note: If the user has forgotten their password, they can use the Forgot Password? link on the O4 login screen.
Locking User Accounts
If a user account is suspected to be compromised or at risk of compromise, OASIS Admins can lock it to prevent them from logging in to O4. If a user account is locked while the user is signed in, the user will be logged out when they navigate to a new screen.
1. Navigate to the Users Listing.
2. Using the Select column, select the user.
3. Click Tools, then select Lock Users.
4. A pop-up will appear. Click Lock.
