All versions of Windows after XP have a security feature called User Account Controls (UAC). These are meant to add a layer of protection from viruses and malware by disallowing changes to system folders unless access is manually granted by the user through a pop-up message. Unfortunately, in the case of Oasis, these don't allow Oasis to access its own Program Files directory. Oasis needs this access when doing the initial setup for connecting to the database, or when switching to a different connection type (ASAODBC or Sybase). For this to complete successfully you need to turn off UAC, reboot, then do the connection setup in Oasis. Once this is done and the connection is working, UAC can be turned back on for security.
