Note: This process must ONLY be done on a new database and only be done once. This will overwrite existing data on live databases!
OASIS has the ability to import data directly from Flash for initial installations. This includes customers, manufacturers, projects, and orders. To do this, first go to the Home screen of OASIS and input your Flash credentials under the Cooper > Set FLASH password menu.
Next, go to the Manufacturers section and create a manufacturer entry for Cooper by clicking File > New. Add a name, ID, and set the specialization dropdown to Flash. Then click Configure Specialization.
Enter the IP address for your Flash server in the URL box. It must be formatted like this, for example: http://192.168.100.1:8080
Click OK, then save and close the manufacturer entry. Once that's done, open the newly created manufacturer. You may have to click to another section, then click back to Manufacturers to refresh the view.
Once you have the entry open, go to the Cooper menu and select Load Manufacturers.
The screen may appear frozen for a moment, but you should be able to save and close soon. Once that's done, you can go back to the Manufacturer section and you will see many new entries there. You will have to go through and do the manual setup for each manufacturer once this is done. Here is a link to the setup document: Flash Integration - setup U.S. agents or Flash Integration - setup Canadian users
For the next part, you will want to wait until the end of the day to reduce the impact to your business. Go back to the Cooper entry you created, then click the Cooper menu and select Load Projects. This will take a long time, but this will pull in project data from Flash. The time it takes to complete will depend on a number of factors, so it's best to do this at the end of the business day and let it run as long as it needs to.
You will do the same to load orders. It will likely take a long time, so set it to run at the end of the business day, or over the weekend.
There is one additional step to do once you have loaded all manufacturers and customers. If you have multiple workgroups in the system, you will want to download and run the script below to allow all workgroups to use the manufacturer entries. To run the attached script, save it to your desktop and go to Configuration > Software in OASIS. Click the Run SQL link. Navigate to the script file, then click OK. You should see a window that says "Query ran without errors."
