Users in OASIS have several options for “Output to”. Printing to PDF and emailing are the more common ones. Most users set the Output To as “Print Preview” to allow them to view the document before printing or sending, or use the “Send Message” option. This document will explain the various options.
|Print Preview||Allows you to see the document before printing. Local Printer and PDF print options are available from this screen.|
|Local Printer||This directs the print to the Windows print window from which you can select the desired printer or driver.|
This option will create a .pdf file using the built in PDF rendering software in OASIS, which can be opened with Adobe Reader, emailed, etc. In the Submittals section there is an option to save the PDF copy of the submittal in the Attachments tab of the job.
Note - This output should not be confused with "Adobe PDF", which might show in the list of available options if you have Adobe Acrobat installed. This option is guaranteed to work with all OASIS prints, while "Adobe PDF" has been known to cause unexpected printing results.
|Microsoft Excel||Creates an Excel spreadsheet|
Allows users to send email, electronic faxes (if your company has an electronic fax solution) of PDF versions of the output. Users can view, add an email message, and add attachments to the output. The email plus the attachment will show in your email client Outbox. A recipient will receive an email along with the PDF attachment.

The email plus the attachment will show in your email client Outbox. A recipient will receive an email along with the Microsoft Excel file attached.|
- OASIS will remember the last setting you used. If using Print Preview last, then Print Preview will be selected next time a print is generated.
- Submittals will always need to be printed to PDF File, saved as PDF attachment, or Send Message
Besides the ability to reduce paper, OASIS provides a way to store all electronic documents related to jobs in the Attachments tab – every transaction, note, email, etc generated from OASIS, a copy will be in the Attachments tab. Also, OASIS allows you to drag and drop any related email or file to the Attachments tab as well.
