Users can optimize OASIS database connections by setting compression and optimizing buffering for low bandwidth connections. This document assumes that OASIS is configured to use the SAJDBC driver. For more information, click here. Note: OASIS GUI design goals favor features over remote performance.
1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel on your computer.
2. Search for "ODBC."
3. Select "ODBC data sources, 32 or 64 bit."
4. The "ODBC Data Source Administrator" window will appear.
5. Select the "System DSN" tab.
6. Select "OASIS" to enable configuration.
7. Select the "Network" tab.
8. In the "Buffer Size" field, enter "16000." Note: users may adjust to 8000 on systems with limited memory.
9. Check the "Compress Network Packets" box.
10. In many cases, users must enter the IP address of the server the PC is connected to remotely. To do so, enter "HOST=address" in the "TCP/IP" field.
11. Select the "Advanced" tab.
12. In the "Additional Connection Parameters" section, enter "PBUF=8192;COMPTH=10."
13. Select "OK" to save changes.
14. Restart OASIS.
