We have been exploring the use of statistics and machine learning in OASIS for a long time now. The change to be made for O4 is more predictive analytics being made available to anyone using OASIS - you just have to start using it.
The article below shows how to turn on a "lead Time" column in the project editor in O4. As most users are still using the older project editor, the same feature is available there as well! The idea is to provide a useful lead time for any factory - as we know most factories don't publish lead times and most are not useful.

So how does it work? Well, we could write a book on that - most of which you probably won't care about. Here are some details:
- The first time you use it, it won't show anything. Don't worry, your request for the information will start a batch job that will scan orders in your database for the required information. If the fields don't populate within 24 hours, give support a call
- The lead time is calculated from the release date on the order to the actual ship date. You are adding shipping information to OASIS? If not, well, we can't help you as shipping information is used for a lot of features in OASIS including calculating lead times!
- There are a lot of variable used to identify when a lead time might vary. This includes the factory (obvious), the time of year the order is released, product "mock" series (more on this later) and many other items. This list will change as we work with customers.
Give it a try and let us know what you see!
