Writing the Backup
The first step is to create a readable copy of the database . The OASIS database is always open and will be skipped (and not be backed up) by most backup solutions. Once the database backup is automated or scripted (using dbbackup), then follow the instructions provided with the tape backup solution, USB drive, etc. to write a copy of the following files. The easiest solution is to get a copy of the database from the daily backup folder, usually c:\oasis_backup.
The files you will need are:
- oasis.db
- oasis.log (if present, but most likely not)
- "AA Logs" - Files in the same directory formatted with a date and ending with the .LOG extension.
