Writing the Backup

Fire, tornados, hurricanes and other disasters can and do result in total system destruction:no server, and no backups. There is a solution: offsite backups. To implement them is simple: just take the backup home, or to the safe deposit box of a local bank.

Implementation is the easy part. The hard part is ensuring the business processes are in place to make it happen consistently. Offsite backups may be implemented using tape backups or USB hard drive backups.
