Writing the Backup
Writing the backup requires the creation of a script to schedule the running of the dbbackup command. When run, the backup will connect to the server and copy the database to the remote server. The process may be run while users are in the system – however, there may be a slight degradation in performance for OASIS users.
Begin by identifying the last compete oasis.db file on a user’s PC. Then identify all the files ending in .log created after the oasis.db file was created. Please note that if multiple user PCs are being used, then all user PCs must be reviewed for the latest oasis.db file and to collect all the .log files. Proceed to the “Standard database recovery” section of the main Backups & The OASIS Database document.
