Many of the larger manufacturers have different marketing brands used to present a different set of products to the market. Within OASIS, users may set up relationships between manufacturer entries, allowing for common reporting and data integration.
Setting Up the Parent Company
1. Navigate to the Manufacturers page.
2. Open the manufacturer to be set as the parent.
3. The "Manufacturer Editor" window will appear.
4. Select the "General" tab.
5. Change the "Active" field to "Parent (shown)." This allows the manufacturer to be shown in quotes and orders. Note: "Parent" does not allow the manufacturer to be shown on quotes and orders.
6. Check the "Merge Brands" box to link parent and child brands on the same PO.
7. Select "Save and Close."
Setting Up the Child Company
1. Navigate to the Manufacturers page.
2. Open another manufacturer that is a brand company of the parent manufacturer.
3. The "Manufacturer Editor" window will appear.
4. Select the "General" tab, and select the parent company from the drop-down menu.
5. Change the "Active" field to "Active."
6. Check the "Merge Brands" box to link parent and child brands on the same PO.
7. Select "Save and Close."
