The .oasis folder is located in the user directory on the local machine. By default, it contains the Lib folder, the logs folder, and the preferences file. This article will explain how to locate the .oasis folder using OASIS, Windows File Explorer, and Mac Finder.
Locating the .oasis Folder using OASIS
1. Launch OASIS.
2. Click the Help menu, then select Optimize OASIS!.
3. The OASIS Optimizer window will appear.
4. Locate the User Directory section, then click the Oasis default boot directory link.
5. The user directory will open on the user's machine where the .oasis folder is located.
Locating the .oasis Folder using Windows File Explorer
1. Launch File Explorer. To do this, press the Windows key on the keyboard and search for "File Explorer" using the search bar that appears. Then, click Open.
2. In the left-side navigation pane, click This PC, then double-click to open the Local Disk/C: drive.
3. Double-click the Users folder to open it.
4. Double-click the folder titled as your user account to open it. Note: this should be the username used to log in to the machine.
5. Double-click to open the .oasis folder.
Locating the .oasis Folder using Mac Finder
1. Open Finder by double-clicking the icon on the dock.
2. In the left-side navigation pane, open the home folder. Note: the home folder is usually titled as the user's username.
3. Hover over the Go menu at the top of the screen, then select Go to Folder... from the drop-down list.
4. A search bar will appear.
5. Enter ".oasis", then click Go.
6. The .oasis folder will open.
