How to Place a File into Attachments

Here is an example of how to attach:

  • Any file

    1. Arrange your desktop so you can see the file you wish to attach and the Attachments tab of the project or order in OASIS
    2. Drag and drop the file from the desktop to the Attachments panel

3. A dialog window will appear allowing the user to:

  • Rename a file in Description:
  • Add Notes
  • Categorize a file
  • Color Code a file
  • Associate with a specific customer, manufacturer, or contact

4. Click "OK" when ready to attach the file.  A copy of the file has been permanently attached to the transaction.

 

  • Any other file type - follow the same procedure to attach any other file type to this job, just drag & drop onto the attachments panel.
  • Items such as drawings, word documents, pdf's, even CAD files (however, because the file maybe so large, you may want to consider your hard drive space). Just drag & drop the file onto the Attachment panel.
  • If the same file is needed in another job, you drag a drop between Attachment panels.
  • An email:

    1. Open your email program
    2. Drag & drop the email onto the Attachments panel (as shown below)

  • Depending on the email client you use a window will appear asking you to allow access for the program to use your email client such as Outlook. Answer Yes.

  • Attach File dialog window will appear allowing the user to:
    • Rename a file in the Description
    • Keep Notes on the file 
      • As Shortcut checkbox - Allows the attachment to be saved as a shortcut
    • Categorize a file
    • Color Code a file
    • Associate with a specific customer, manufacturer or a contact
  • Select "OK" when done. OASIS will add the email and any other attachments to the attachments tab.

Deleting an attachment

To delete items from the Attachment tab, just highlight the item and click the trashcan on the toolbar.
