This document shows various examples on how pricing data is mapped to fields in the OASIS quote and order.
Common Items
The effective end date is utilized by OASIS to determine when a price should no longer be used. The date is at the item level. However all items in a price list may be updated by setting the header level end date.
Commissioned Only
NOTE: the book column is not used very often.
The parts list tab has a required part number.
Additionally, one or more price columns may be added with matching price and commission rates. The over split column allows for product specific changes in overage split.
The effective end date is the last date OASIS will auto price the pricing.
The price exceptions tab contains customer specific pricing. This includes a price and commission pair. Also included is a manufacturer quote number that will be copied to the order or quote when the price is used.
The effective end date is the last date OASIS will auto price the pricing.
The Level Names tab is often missed, but is required for any pricing to be automatically copied to the order or quote.
The Level name column may be changed to anything required by the user. The MFG Quote column may be used to force a manufacturer quote number to be used when a price is pulled from the related column.
The “Code” column contains a number of different values. The most important are:
-
Price- just a price used by the system
-
Overageable – the column containing pricing where the factory starts paying overage.
The Quote path shows the columns (by user defined name) that are scanned for a price. The first column in the path is scanned and if a price is found, it is used; otherwise if no price is found, the next column is scanned for a price.
The Order path is only used if the customer is given an account with a matching account number:
Quotes
The resell check will not be set for commissioned manufacturers.
The Book column is not used by most customers, but does map directly from the price list to the book column on the quote
If any pricing column in the price list is marked as “overageable”, that price and matching commission will map to the OBase and OBase Comm columns in the quote
The base and base comm. Columns are set base on any matches by scanning the quote path. The first non zero price in the quote path will be taken with the matching price and commission.
The sell price is initially set to the base price, allowing the user to quickly mark up the item.
Orders (or where a winning customer is selected on the quote)
The order (and quotes with a winning customer selected) will use any customer price exceptions first (as shown above).
If no price exceptions are found, then the customer’s level is used to look for a price in the corresponding column in the price list. If one is not found, then the OPath is used to scan for a price.
(Most users forget to setup price exceptions or assign customers to levels in OASIS. The result is no price or book price is used instead.)
Basic Resell – Non-imported items
The resell price list contains a part number which is required.
Up to 15 levels of pricing may be created – each with a cost and a sell. These values are paired such that if a given price is used, the matching sell price is used as well.
The level names tab is often forgotten by users, but is required for pricing to be pulled.
The Level name column may be changed to anything required by the user.
The Code column is not used in resell.
The Quote path shows the columns (by user defined name) that are scanned for a price. The first column in the path is scanned and if a price is found, it is used; otherwise if no price is found, the next column is scanned for a price.
The Order path is only used if the customer is given an account with a matching account number:
Quotes
The resell check will be set for resell manufacturers and any time a cost is found with a catalog number.
The Book column is not used by most customers, but does map directly from the price list to the book column on the quote
The base and cost columns are set base on any matches by scanning the quote path. The first non zero price in the quote path will be taken with the matching cost/price.
The sell price is initially set to the base price, allowing the user to quickly mark up the item.
Orders
The order (and quotes with a winning customer selected) will use any customer price exceptions first.
If no price exceptions are found, then the customer’s level is used to look for a price in the corresponding column in the price list (as in this case). If one is not found, then the OPath is used to scan for a price.
(Most users forget to setup price exceptions or assign customers to levels in OASIS. The result is no price or book price is used instead.)
Imported
The resell price list contains a part number which is required.
Up to 15 levels of pricing may be created – each with a cost and a sell. These values are paired such that if a given price is used, the matching sell price is used as well.
NOTE: There is a significant difference between basic resell and the imported items at this time. The cost is always in the currency of the manufacturer. However, the price list sell price is the LANDED COST in OASIS 2.7. We have to support cases where a given manufacturer may have different landing factors (e.g. country of origin may change any tariffs).

The resell check will be set for imported manufacturers and any time a cost is found with a catalog number.
NOTE: Base price is the landed cost!!
Orders
The order (and quotes with a winning customer selected) will use any customer price exceptions first.
If no price exceptions are found, then the customer’s level is used to look for a price in the corresponding column in the price list (as in this case). If one is not found, then the OPath is used to scan for a price.
NOTICE: the manufacturers price will be placed in the net price column. The cost and sell columns are both set to the sell price. This forms a landed cost and the user must apply the final sell price.
(Many users forget to setup price exceptions or assign customers to levels in OASIS. The result is no price or book price is used instead.)
