Use the "Database Connection" link in the Configuration page to identify the database that OASIS connects to. Users can also change the database connection through this link, but may require credentials from Ingen Software, depending on the database. Note: if you are new to OASIS or have just completed a new installation, start on step 5.
1. Navigate to the Configuration page.
2. Select "Software" from the drop-down list.
3. Locate the "Workstation Configuration" area.
4. Select "Database Connection."
5. The "Database Login" window will appear.
If you are using Sybase:
1. In the "Kind" field, select "Sybase." Note: Cloud services use Sybase.
2. Enter the following information:
- Server- IP address of the server
- Port- port that the server has open for the database. Note: this is typically "2638" unless the server is set up with a different port.
- User- the username for the database. Note: this is typically "oasis," unless set up differently.
- Password- the password for the database. Note: this is typically "oasis," unless set up differently.
3. Select "OK."
4. Restart OASIS for the changes to take effect.
If you are using Ask:
1. In the "Kind" field, select "Ask."
4. Restart OASIS.
5. When OASIS is restarted, the "Connection Manager" window will appear. To add a line for a new connection, click the 'Add' button.
Users will need to add a few pieces of information for the connection to work. First, give it a name. This can be anything. Then, select the kind of connection by clicking the 'kind' field and selecting the type from the drop down menu. (In most cases, Sybase will be the connection type.) Next, enter the server IP and port information. (Check with your IT personnel for the correct IP addresses. In almost all cases, the port will be 2638.) The username and password fields will both be "oasis". You can set one of them as the default connection by putting a check in the "DFLT" box. Once these are set up, click "Go" to connect.
In the image above, there are two connections set up: one for a local connection and one for a remote connection, using two different IP addresses. It will work the same with multiple databases in one location.
If you are using SQL Server:
1. In the "Kind" field, select "SQL Server."
2. Enter the following information:
- Server- IP address of the server
- Port- port that the server has open for the database. Note: this is typically "1433" unless the server is set up with a different port.
- User- the username for the database. Note: this is typically "oasis," unless set up differently.
- Password- the password for the database. Note: this is typically "oasis," unless set up differently.
3. Select "OK."
4. Restart OASIS for the changes to take effect.
If you are using Oracle Thin:
1. In the "Kind" field, select "Oracle Thin."
2. Contact customer support for the server, port, user, and password.
3. Select "Ok."
