Changing the OASIS Temp Directory on Windows Machines

Changing your OASIS temp directory is a standard solution for issues involving attachments and prints. This article will explain changing your OASIS temp directory on Windows machines. 

 

For Non-Admin Users:

1. Close OASIS.

2. Open File Explorer by double-clicking the mceclip1.png icon in the taskbar.

3. Click "This PC" in the left-side navigation pane to open it.

4. Right-click the local disk/(C:) drive, hover over "New", then click "Folder."

5. Rename the newly created folder as "OasisTemp".

6. Next, locate and double-click the Users folder. 

7. Double-click to open the folder titled as the user's username.

8. Double-click to open the ".oasis" folder. To learn how to quickly open the ".oasis" folder next time, click here.

9. Double-click the preferences file and open with Notepad.

10. At the bottom of the text file, copy and paste the following:

USE_TEMP_DIR="C:/OasisTemp"

11. Click "File", then select "Save".

For OASIS Admin Users:

1. Close OASIS completely

2. Open the File Explorer by double-clicking the mceclip1.png icon in the taskbar.

3. Select "This PC" in the navigation pane.

4. Right-click the local disk/(C:) drive and select "New", then "Folder".

5. Rename the folder "OasisTemp".

6. Launch OASIS.

7. Navigate to Configuration, then select Software.

8. Under Workstation Configuration, select Preferences.

9. Under the General Tab find "Use alternate TEMP directory:".

10. Select  Elipsies.PNG.

11. Select the drop down and select Local Disk (C:).

12. Select the OasisTemp folder.

13. Select "Open".

14. Select "Ok".
