This article will explain how to create a sales account in O4.
1. Click the icon.
2. Select Configuration from the drop-down list.
3. Click Sales Accounts.
4. The Sales Account Listing will appear.
5. Click File, then select New Sales Account from the drop-down list.
6. The Sales Account Creator will appear.
The General Tab
Use this tab to enter general information related to the sales account including percentages of credit.
- Account- name or ID of the sales account.
- Description- an identifying description of the sales account.
- Crossover Account- an ID used in an external accounting program, if applicable. This field is used for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Active- whether the sales account is active and can be used for transactions and reporting.
- Percent of Commission- the percentage split between sales account and the company. It takes the assigned commission amount from the sales account split on the transaction and splits it again based on the percentage entered here.
- Percent of Overage- the percentage split between sales account and the company. It takes the assigned overage from the sales account split on the transaction and splits it again based on the percentage entered here.
- Percent of Margin- the percentage split between sales account and the company. It takes the assigned margin amount from the sales account split on the resell transaction and splits it again based on the percentage entered here. Note: this affects resell transactions only.
The Adjustments Tab
Use this tab to make financial adjustments for orders and invoices for the sales account. Click to create an adjustment.
- Effective Date- the date the adjustment was entered.
- Description- a brief description of the adjustment.
- Crossover Account- the crossover account to receive credit for the adjustment.
- Amount- amount to be adjusted.
- Order- the PO number this adjustment is for.
- Invoice- the invoice number this adjustment is for.
The Goals Tab
Use this tab to set goals for the sales account. Click to create a goal.
- Name- a name for the goal. This is used to differentiate between multiple goals.
- Start- the start date of the goal's timeframe.
- End- the end date of the goal's timeframe.
- Account- the selected sales account. Note: this column will be blank until the sales account is created.
- MFG- the manufacturer for which the goal is set in consideration of.
- Customer- the customer for which the goal is set in consideration of.
- Track- check this box to track the goal in the Goals report. Note: this report is not yet in O4.
- Source- the type of order to consider for the goal.
- Earn Amount- the total earnings amount set for the goal.
- Sales Amount- the total sell amount set for the goal.
- Description- a description of the goal.
7. Click to create the sales account.
