Using the Charge Manager in Quotes

The Charge Code has been a feature of OASIS for years, allowing users to represent product fees imposed by manufacturers. However, users can only apply dollar amounts with the Charge Code, and the recent economic landscape has presented unprecedented challenges that necessitate greater efficiency and flexibility.

To address this, we have introduced a new feature in Legacy OASIS and O4 called the Charge Manager, which enables users to apply a Charge Code as a percentage of the BOM's total sell price, cost, or net price (or the total of selected parts). This article will explain how to use the Charge Manager within a quote using Legacy OASIS.

Requirements:

1. Open a quote.

2. Click Tools, then select Charge Manager. Note: To base the charge amount on the total of certain lines (rather than the BOM's total), select those before opening the Charge Manager.

3. The Manage Charge window will appear.

4. Select the rows you wish to use to determine the Charge Code amount.

  • Selected rows: apply the charge based on the total of selected lines (must be selected before opening the Charge Manager)
  • By Manufacturer (): apply the charge based on the total of lines assigned to a specific manufacturer
  • All rows: apply the charge based on the total of all lines in the quote

5. In the Fixture Type field, enter the Type code for the Charge Code (e.g., "Tariff").

6. In the Charge field, enter the percentage amount you wish to apply. Once applied, the Charge Code will appear as a dollar amount in the BOM. It will not dynamically update when changes are made to the totals.

7. Using the Base Charge On field, select the price on which to base the Charge Code amount (Sell, Cost, or Net).

8. Click Update.

9. The Charge Code will appear at the bottom of the BOM. The Part field will reflect the Fixture Type and Charge percentage as entered in the Manage Charge window.
