Using the PDF Drag-and-Drop Feature

Users can now drag and drop PDF files directly into OASIS to populate a quote's bill of materials in OASIS Online. This article will explain how to use the PDF drag-and-drop feature. 

Requirements:

• OASIS Online must be on release number W1134C4 or later.

Note: 

• This feature utilizes technology that requires occasional training to recognize PDF page elements. If a bill of materials is not created after dragging and dropping a PDF file, or information is not populating correctly, please send a copy of the file to OASIS Support for troubleshooting. 

1. Open a project.

2. Create a new bid or select an existing one that has a blank bill of materials.

3. Drag the PDF file directly into the bill of materials on the Items tab.

4. A new window will appear displaying the PDF content. Click Import.

5. A window will appear, asking you to confirm that the previously displayed values are correct. Check the checkbox and then click Ok.

6. The Map external to internal Manufacturer Identifiers windows may appear, requesting that you map any brands identified in the PDF to manufacturer entries in your OASIS database. Locate the correct manufacturer entry for each entry, then click Ok. 

Note: Brands only need to be mapped once. Once a brand has been mapped, OASIS will remember the mapping for next time. If this window does not appear, all brands recognized in the PDF have already been mapped.

7. A new window will appear. Use this window to adjust import options, such as which prices or notes to import, then click Import.

8. The quote's bill of materials will populate.
