Alternate roles allow users to create multiple sales assignments based on customer roles. This article will explain how to assign alternate roles to a customer entry in Legacy OASIS.
Requirements:
- User must have Update access to Customers.
Note:
- This feature can be used with or without influence. Learn more about using influence to automate sales credit.
- Roles must be configured before they can be assigned to a customer entry. Learn more about configuring customer roles.
Assigning Alternate Roles
1. Navigate to the Customers page.
2. Open a customer entry.
3. On the General tab, under the Classification section, click Alternate Role.
4. A new window will appear, listing all customer roles configured in OASIS.
5. In the Use column, check the checkbox to assign a customer role as an alternate role. Users can assign multiple alternate roles.
In the example below, the Architect role has been selected as an alternate role.
6. In the Sales Users column, double-click the cell, then select the sales user to be used when the alternate role is specified in a transaction.
7. In the Rank column, double-click the cell, then select the influence rank assigned to the alternate role. Skip this step if calculating sales credit manually.
8. Click Ok to create the alternate role.
9. The alternate role will appear on the General tab of the customer entry.
10. Click Save and close.
Example
When the customer's alternate role is selected in a transaction, the sales assignment will populate automatically.
In the example below, the project displays a customer, Best Electric Lighting, specified as an Engineer and Architect, each with unique sales assignments and ranks.
