Inside Sales View vs. Outside Sales View

There are two different views of an O4 Project: the Inside Sales View and the Outside Sales View. The Inside Sales View provides editing capabilities for inside sales staff, such as quoters, and the Outside Sales View provides a read-only view for outside sales staff, such as salespeople. The availability of these views are dependent upon the user's security access, described below for each view. This article will compare the Inside Sales View and Outside Sales View of a project in O4.

The Inside Sales View 

Users with create, update, and read security access for projects & quotes can access the Inside Sales View of a project. Users can create and edit projects from this view. A user will be automatically directed to the Inside Sales View of a project each time the project is opened.

Users will be able to view all of the phases and bids within the project, including all tabs within each phase and bid. Users can also view all of the available columns within the bill of material.

Creating/Editing a Project

Users within the Inside Sales View of a project will see the editing icon on the General tab of a phase and the Items tab of a bid. Selecting this icon will bring users to the editing screen. 

Switching Between Views

Users within the Inside Sales View are able to switch to the Outside Sales View. While within an phase, select "Produce" then select "Outside Sales View". 

The Outside Sales View

Users with only read security access for projects & quotes can access the Outside Sales View. Users cannot create/edit a project in O4 from this view but users with read only access can add Conversations. This view does not allow users to switch to the Inside Sales View. Other phases within a project will not be available to view and other bids must be searched for separately. 

Users will be able to view the Overview Tab, the Conversations Tab, the Attachments Tab, the BOM Tab, and the Notes tab for each phase. 

The BOM Tab

The BOM Tab, or the Bill of Material Tab, displays the type, quantity, manufacturer, catalog/description/line notes, sell amount, and extended sell amount columns. It does not provide access to the Customers tab or the Manufacturers tab. Note: admins can hide money on the bill of material for the Outside Sales View here.

• The Option Totals Tab- this tab will show the bill of material organized by option code
• The Manufacturer Totals Tab- this tab will show a summary of the bill of material by manufacturer
