ChatGPT prompts offer deeper insights through Red Ocean and SWOT analyses, as well as faster workflows, such as generating alternative part suggestions. This article explains how to configure ChatGPT connectivity in OASIS and describes each prompt currently available.

Requirements:
- OASIS Online is required to use this feature.
- Certain ChatGPT prompts require brands to be mapped in Folio.
- OASIS must be on release W1146A3 or later.
Note:
- This article uses OASIS Online as the walkthrough example. However, you can complete the configuration steps and use the ChatGPT feature in Desktop OASIS.

Configuring ChatGPT in OASIS
OASIS must be connected to your OpenAI account using an API Key. You can generate an API Key from your organization settings in OpenAI. Once you have the API Key, follow the steps below.
Requirements:
- User must have Admin access to Software.
1. Navigate to the Configuration page.
2. Open the ChatGPT menu, then click Configure.
3. The ChatGPT Configuration window will appear.
4. Check the Show ChatGPT prompt menus checkbox to enable ChatGPT prompts for projects.
5. Using the Model field, enter your preferred OpenAI model (e.g., "gpt-4.1"). Leave this field blank to allow our servers to select the most efficient model.
6. Using the Key field, enter the API Key retrieved from your OpenAI account.
7. Click Save.
Using ChatGPT Prompts
To get started, locate the ChatGPT menu inside a full project. There are currently five prompts available:
- Market Analysis
- Crossover
- Suggest Alternate
- Product SWOT
- Rewrite Quote Notes
OASIS will generate the selected prompt and display the output directly from within OASIS. Some prompts save a PDF copy of the output as an attachment inside OASIS for project tracking and record-keeping purposes.
Refer to the definitions below to learn more about each prompt and its requirements.
Market Analysis
The Market Analysis prompt generates a Red Ocean Analysis of your project. To generate this prompt, your project phase must have the following fields defined on the General tab:
- Vertical Market
- Location
- Square Footage
Crossover
The Crossover prompt suggests crossover parts based on your active brands for a selected part in your bill of materials. The selected part must have the following columns defined:
- ALT Mfg (Spec'd Brand in Online OASIS)
- ALT Part (Spec'd Catalog in Online OASIS)
To use a crossover that the prompt suggests, locate the Crossover Table at the bottom of the output, then click Use for the part you want to import into your bill of materials.
Suggest Alternate
The Suggest Alternate prompt suggests alternate parts based on your active brands for a selected part in your bill of materials. The selected part must have the following columns defined:
- MFG (Manufacturer in Online OASIS)
- Part (Catalog in Online OASIS)
To use an alternate part that the prompt suggests, locate the Cross-Reference Table at the bottom of the output, then click Use for the part you want to import into your bill of materials.
Product SWOT
The Product SWOT prompt performs a SWOT analysis for a selected part in your bill of materials. The selected part must have the following columns defined:
- MFG (Manufacturer in Online OASIS)
- Part (Catalog in Online OASIS)
Rewrite Quote Notes
The Rewrite Quote Notes prompts rephrases selected text inside an external notes field to produce a more professional and organized version.
