User Types for OASIS

User types control a user's access to Desktop OASIS and OASIS Online. User types can be changed at any time, but these changes may affect billing. Before making changes, please contact OASIS Sales by emailing sales@oasissalessoftware.com or calling 501-843-6750. 

Requirements:

• Users must have Admin access to Users to assign a user type.

Defining User Types

There are four standard user types: Legacy (OASIS Desktop), O4 (OASIS Online), Hybrid, and API Access.

	Note: There is a fifth user type called OASIS Service. The OASIS Service user type is used for the Notification Account in OASIS Online. It allows companies to send email notifications from a generic company email rather than a user's email.
If assigned the OASIS Service user type, users cannot log in to either platform or create API calls.

Online Dashboard Implications

User types also control access to the Online Dashboard. The Online Dashboard is a user interface inside Desktop OASIS that allows users without Online access to experience select Online-exclusive features, such as Tiles. 

• If you're an O4 Only or Hybrid user, clicking the Online Dashboard will open your Online instance in a new browser window. 
• If you're a Legacy Only user type, clicking the Online Dashboard will open a new Desktop OASIS window, displaying the Online Dashboard interface.

Assigning a User Type

User types are assigned inside the User Editor. You can assign user types in Desktop or Online. 

1. Navigate to the Configuration page.

2. Select Users from the drop-down list.

3. Open a user.

4. The User Editor window will appear.

5. Click the General tab.

6. Using the User Type drop-down list, select a user type.

7. Click Ok.
