The General tab of Global Settings allows users to customize settings that impact multiple OASIS functions. This article will define and provide recommendations for each setting.
Requirements:
- User must have Admin access to Software.
Note:
- Please contact OASIS Support if setting a field to a value other than what is recommended unless the value is discretionary.
Setting | Description | Recommendation |

If checked, the specifiers on quotes and orders may be manually keyed. If unchecked, the specifiers must match a customer entry in OASIS. |
Unchecked |
Force type fields to UPPER CASE |
If checked, fixture types on quotes and orders are forced to be upper case. If unchecked, lowercase characters are allowed in the fixture type field. |
Checked |
Style phone numbers as (###)###-#### |
If checked, phone numbers are changed to match the standardized pattern of (###) ###-####. If unchecked, phone numbers remain in the format entered. |

Disable preferences for all users except users with "OASIS Admin" access | If checked, users without Admin access to OASIS cannot change their preferences. | Unchecked |
Manual commission splits |
If checked, users must manually enter sales accounts and their percentage of sales credit. Influence will be ignored unless the Manual commission splits - with specifier influence setting is checked. Note: The default sales account in the workgroup will still be used. If unchecked, OASIS will automatically select the sales user assigned to the customer and use influence to determine sales credit splits. |
Discretionary |
Manual commission splits - with specifier influence. (Initial commission splits are auto selected. Manual over-rise is accepted without warning) | If checked, and the Manual commission splits setting is checked, influence will apply to manually entered sales accounts. | Discretionary |
Enable SKU Lookup (Could make your system crazy slow!) | If checked, activate the SKU lookup in OASIS. Distributors typically use this to scan multiple price lists for an internal SKU, which pulls the corresponding manufacturer and catalog number. |
Discretionary Do not make a change without first contacting OASIS Support |
Inactivate quotes and close orders when file code is set |
If checked, and a value is keyed into the File Code field on a project, then the project and related orders are closed. If unchecked, adding a value to the File Code field only records the value for reporting. |
Discretionary |
Use File code as Quote Number | If checked, the value in the File Code field on a project will be used as the quote number when printing and searching for related quotes. |
Unchecked Do not make a change without first contacting OASIS Support |
Enable 'Send All' when sending messages from OASIS | If checked, a "Send All" button is shown at the bottom of the Send Message editor. | Discretionary |
Markings on document (e.g. quote) are from the transaction workgroup - otherwise, from user's workgroup |
If checked, workgroup information (e.g., business name and contact information) is pulled from the workgroup assigned to the transaction. If unchecked, workgroup information is pulled from the user's default workgroup. |
Discretionary |
Only auto apply exact matches (using OASIS identifiers) |
If checked, OASIS will only automatically apply updates from O2Os or transaction downloads (manufacturer connectivity) as long as the OASIS identifiers (line number, part number, manufacturer, and type) match exactly. |
Checked |
Show 'Finish' and 'Voltage' columns on quote and order forms. |
If checked, the Finish and Voltage columns in the bill of materials on the quote and order will print in the Catalog column on the quote or order print. If unchecked, these values are considered internal and will not print. |
Discretionary |
Use CO (care of) field in addresses. |
If checked, OASIS will print the CO (care of) address field on orders. If unchecked, the field is considered internal and will not print. |
Checked |

Use price lookup "MFGBrand' to set the manufacturer. | If checked and the information is available, the price list for a manufacturing conglomerate may be set up with all catalog numbers and related brands.
